Before surgery, a five-year-old boy made one last wish: to see his beloved dog, Archie. Although animals weren’t normally allowed in the hospital, the nurses, moved by his plea, agreed. When Archie arrived, he jumped onto the bed and snuggled up to the boy, who smiled for the first time in weeks.
The room was filled with excitement… until Archie suddenly tensed, jumped to the floor, and began barking furiously at the surgeon assigned to perform the operation. Surprised, the doctors tried to calm the dog, but one of them smelled something alarming: a strong odor of alcohol.
“Are you drunk?” the anesthesiologist whispered in horror. The surgeon tried to deny it, but the smell gave him away. He was immediately removed and later lost his medical license.
Thanks to Archie’s instinct, the operation was postponed and another specialist was assigned. Days later, the boy successfully emerged from surgery.
