The case that shocked the local community is under investigation

The tragedy involving little Ritaj Lahma, just six years old, shocked the town of Villongo, in northern Italy. The girl was playing on a swing in the park with her mother, Fatima, when the fatal accident occurred.
After falling off the ride, Ritaj was violently hit in the head by the plastic seat which was still moving.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the girl did not survive the head trauma and died a few hours later in hospital.
Ritaj’s death has raised questions about the safety of playgrounds. Local prosecutors have seized the swing for forensic analysis to determine whether maintenance failures or design issues may have contributed to the accident.
If irregularities are found, those responsible for managing the park could be held criminally liable. A cousin of the family described Ritaj as “the light of the family”, highlighting the deep pain and grief that this incident has brought to everyone.
